SALE Strong and powerful Markneukirchen violin bow, Prell school, c.1940

This powerful Markneukirchen violin bow was created in the 1940s and bears the unmistakable style of Hermann Prell (1875-1925), one of the most highly esteemed Markneukirchen bow maker. Prell studied under teachers such as Heinrich Hoyer and perfected his craft under the master of modern French bow making,
Eugène Sartory. The head of this delicate yet powerful octagonal light reddish-brown pernambuco stick is crafted very much in Hermann Prell's style. The bow has a classic and sophisticated character with genuine silver mounting on the ebony frog, a later three-part nickel button that allows us to offer this fabulous bow at a reduced rate. The balance point of the bow is 27.4 cm and is centered, slightly inclines towards the tip; all in all the bow measures 62.4 g and 74.1 cm. This fine violin bow is offered ready to play and features a large, powerful and precise sound, warm and clear and voluminous. The bow takes high pressure and works very well with powerful, male players.
