The varnish is an oil varnish of an intense dark red color over a yellow ground with unique craquelle. The work is generally fine and delicate. The instrument is crackfree and in immediate playing condition. Its mature noble sound is clear and full-bodied, huge and voluminous in the lower ranges - bright an clear in the higher ranges.
