A fine 19th century silver violin bow by Heinrich Knopf (1839-1875). The bow was made in Markneukirchen in the 1860ies - Knopfs best period. The round stick is made of very fine brown pernambuco wood. The stick is of excellent stiffness and flexibility. The ebony frog is sterling silver mounted with pearl eye and pearl slide. The silver adjuster is made of sterling silver with ebony ring. The bow is undamaged and in perfect playing condition with new hair, leather and winding. A beautiful bow producing a clear powerful tone with the ability to play aggressively. Comes with a certificate of authenticity by Klaus Grünke, Bubenreuth.
