This fine violin bow by highly esteemed Richard Weichold was made around 1880 in Dresden. The lightweight, octagonal, highly elastic and highly active stick of good strength is crafted of exquisite red-brown pernambuco and has a fine ebony frog with silver fittings, a mother-of-pearl eye and a white-green colored mother-of-pearl slide. The delicately crafted head and frog show exquisitely mastery. This fine Richard Weichold violin bow is perfectly balanced, it has its balance point well-centered and is an extremely agile violin bow suitable for virtuoso play that features a bright, warm, sweet sound.
