This good Czech violin was built in the workshops of Emanuel Hüller in Graslitz, Bohemia, a typical work of the early 20th century following patterns of Antonio Stradivari. The yellow and dark-brown colored varnish unmistakably indicates its provenance; a closer inspection reveals that this is a quality example of the well-known instruments that were manufactured in the Bohemian-Saxon region of violin making to meet the demands of players worldwide. The medium grained spruce of the top and the flaming of the two-piece back are tastefully accentuated by the purfling that was executed with great care. We recommend this violin in excellent condition for its strong, clear voice that features some dark character and promises to be a pleasure in practicing. Like all of our instruments, this piece was worked over thoroughly in or workshop and is offered ready to play.
