This German violin with a clear and mature sound was made more than 100 years ago by an unknown luthier, on behalf of the renowned maker of wind instruments Karl Lehmpfuhl in Freiburg. A Stradivari-label, additional to Karl Lehmpfuhl´s label, indicates the violin as a very well-designed instrument in the Cremona violin making tradition. The elegant, well-crafted scroll reflects excellent artisanry. The very regular spruce top and the mildly flamed maple back are highly visible under the light, golden brown varnish with subtle traces of age, accentuated by the accurate purfling. Small, gentle soundholes and the boxwood setup express the special character of this completely restored violin, which is offered in perfect, undamaged condition, ready to play. Rich in overtones with a strong, resonant sound, well-balanced across the strings the violin offers great musical options with interesting, dark and brilliant nuances.
