This beautiful old violin with a warm, powerful sound was in Germany, presumably in the workshop of Josef Bitterer around 1960. It bears the Bitterer workshop label. Goodquality materials, medium grained spruce and mildly flamed Alpine maple, were combined with traditional craftsmanship. The beautiful woods and the warm, orange-toned varnish show only minor signs of use. This good violin is undamaged and offered in excellent condition after a complete workover by the luthiers working at Corilon violins, ready to unfold a strong, warm, powerful sound which is clear and brilliant with a dark note in the lower ranges. This beautiful instrument deserves the classification “highly recommended”.
