An antique original Hopf violin. The violin is a high quality instrument that was made in the Hopf workshops in Klingenthal around 1840 and is originally branded on the back. The broad squary model is a typical Hopf model. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the one piece back of flamed maple. The ribs are narrow flamed. There is some restoration to the scroll and pegbox and two minor repairs at the outer f-wings of the soundholes. The sound is clear, dark and sweet. Special recommendation.
