This German violin is a quality instrument of sound, a piece full of character that was built in 1902 by Gweorg Drexel, as indicated by the lable. Delicate, slim soundholes are a good reference of the taste and the skills of the violin maker. Restrained antique touches and heavy signs from playing at the light, golden-brown colored varnish determine the appearance of the premium tonewoods. The medium grained spruce of the top and the beautifully flamed sycamore maple of which the two-piece back and the ribs were crafted feature not only visually, but also acoustically convincing properties. After a complete work-over by our luthier the violin unfolds its bright, warm and floating voice that is well-balanced and surprisingly beautiful - immediately ready to play.
