With some optical flaws, this perfectly preserved violin is a quality instrument full of character, that was crafted approx. 1930 in the violin making region of Markneukirchen and Klingenthal in Saxony. It was designed after an elegant Stradivarius model with medium arching that features many very successfully crafted details: the wide-set soundholes excellently match the contours of the body, and the attractive purfling was executed close to the accentuated edges. Medium grain spruce was chosen for the top of the violin, and narrow flamed sycamore maple for the two-piece back - quality tonewoods that underline the skillful craftsmanship and coherence of the instrument. It has been thoroughly gone-over by our luthier and is ready to play, with a convincing, dark and clear sound rich in overtones, that features excellent resonance and some sweetness in the upper ranges.
