German violin from Markneukirchen with crisp sound full of character

The workshops of August Clemens Glier ranked among the renowned and successful late 19th century enterprises in violin making in Markneukirchen, Saxony. The violin offered here is a typical but unlabeled example that was built there. Its overall impression and good quality are typical for A. C. Glier violins. The medium grained spruce of the top and the flamed maple of the two-piece back demonstrate excellent standards, both in choice of materials and craftsmanship. The red-brown varnish was applied tastefully and features antique touches that were executed with utmost care. Our expert luthiers worked over this with violin completely; it is crack-free and is ready to play. Its sound is a strong and mature, warm voice that features some dark and clear character and is rich in overtones.
