The Markneukirchen tradition of violin making is an important school of craftsmanship in Europe, influential far beyond the borders of its region in Eastern Germany. The Walter Robert Barth violin offered here is a good example of these artistic echoes, that was built in 1966 in Bad Brambach near Markneukirchen. Due to its solid sound properties it is a recommendable partner for strong players and orchestral use. The Stradivarius model with low ribs and flatly crafted archings is tastefully completed by the large scroll. Beautiful varnish of an orange-brown color over a lighter ground covers the medium grained spruce of the top and the two-piece maple back. The violin makers in our workshop have meticulously worked over this instrument, that is preserved crackfree and ready to play. It unfolds a mature, clear sound, rich in overtones.
