This beautiful antique violin bearing a Xaver Kerschensteiner trade label is a typical example of fine quality instruments from Saxony that were built in the late in the 19th century in the Lowendall workshops in Dresden. The style of workmanship violin indicate its origin in the flourishing Louis Lowendall workshops. The dark luster of the golden-brown varnish is of an attractive character with slight patina and some signs from playing. The violin's finely crafted purfling and the harmonious proportions of the neatly carved scroll attest to the proper craftsmanship of the violin maker, whose work has been appreciated and preserved in very good condition. After a thorough workover in our workshop, we offer this quality Lowendall violin in perfect condition, ready to play. We recommend its clear, warm and large voice, which is well-rounded, powerful and mature, radiant and rich in overtones with a particularly easy response. Like all instruments and bows from us, this violin include our trade-guarantee and an optional certificate of appraisal.
