Mirecourt in the Vosges department, France, is considered as the capital of French violin making, where early manufactories were established producing high quality instruments. Many of those are imitating patterns of the best masters, the Collin-Mezin model. Built around 1920, this good French violin is especially suitable for advanced and strong players, with its typically French, dark, clear sound. The two-piece back is made of deeply flamed maple and has a typically pronounced French fluting. This recommendable old French violin has been meticulously worked over in our atelier and is offered, like all antique violins and bows from us, ready to play.
