This antique late 19th century French violin is an unmistakable and typical representative of the affordable instrument lines from the Derazey atelier in the French violin-making town of Mirecourt. One characteristic hallmark of its background is the varnish, shape of body and scroll and the narrow, elegantly carved sound holes which reflect the utmost artisanal quality, as is the extremely accurate purfling in the bee-sting. The orange-brown varnish complements the aesthetic effect of the flaming on the two-piece maple back and the extremely even grain of the spruce top. This good sounding antique violin is crackfree and well preserved and, despite some varnish blemishes, will win you over with its powerful, mature and clear sound full of character and sweetness in the upper ranges. Like all instruments and bows from us this includes Corilon's trade-garantee and an optional certificate of appraisal.
